fraction of flower here placing

an inch of air there)and

without breaking anything”.

—E. E. Cummings

Dearest reader…

Welcome to May — I hope you are finding your feet in this new month…?

Despite the narrative of spring overhauls and stripping back, the world outside softens and we can translate this in our homes too. I have created A Storied Home., a 20-page guide filled with my thoughts, reflections and practical ideas for creating softness and inspiration at home in spring.

The guide includes,

  • gentle intentions to weave into your home in spring

  • my take on home as a soft place to land in spring

  • an exploration of the power of the air element in refreshing our homes, including some easeful, uplifting sensory rituals and design cues & details.

  • three design themes to explore — freshness & warmth, softness & renewal, vibrancy & comfort

I will layer more into the guide in the month ahead, including a chapter about the verdant spring garden and the flowers of the season.

I recently published an extract from A Storied Home. in spring, which you can read here,

Home as a soft place to land in spring.

A quick note about A Seasonal Salon. spring edition that will take place this week, at 10am BST on Wednesday 7th May 2025.

A Seasonal Salon. is an online creative gathering as part of The Beauty Thread. — for the spring edition, we will weave together seasonal reflections, poetry and prose, flowers and folklore to reflect on the season so far, and find inspiring, vibrant cues to craft intentions for the lightest, brightest weeks and months ahead.

The spring edition of A Seasonal Salon. is an opportunity to gather together — to light a bright fire within, to shed the layers we have been cocooned in, to step barefoot into a wildflower meadow blossoming with magic and potential.

Join The Beauty Thread. membership to register your space, it would be wonderful to have you there.

See below for A Storied Home. in spring, including a six-page preview for all, and the full guide as a PDF file for members of The Beauty Thread. — I so hope you enjoy reading it with a relaxed hot (or cold!) drink over the long weekend, and I would love to know…

Where can you bring more softness to your home in spring? Where do you feel inspired at home?

I would love to hear your thoughts, perhaps we can chat more in the comments, or of course feel free to send me an email/message.
