“A delicate fabric of bird song
Floats in the air,
The smell of wet wild earth
Is everywhere”.

Dearest reader…
How is everything in your world?
Mine has been a little shaky this week whilst I have been pouring myself into tending to my daughter after she had a bad fall, requiring urgent surgery at the weekend… I am certainly leaning into the soft growth of May for cushioning and healing hope.
I wanted to let you know that I am rescheduling A Seasonal Salon. for spring, 11am-12.15pm BST on Wednesday 14th May 2025.
A Seasonal Salon. is an online creative gathering as part of The Beauty Thread. — an opportunity to anchor and soften into the season, as we create time and space to notice, and take cues from the beauty that surrounds us. See the autumn and winter Salons below in case you missed them…
There is a link to register for members of The Beauty Thread. at the end of this post, you would be so welcome to upgrade your membership to join us…
Sensing the season as it unfolds.
May holds softness underfoot and in the air — a place of comfort to wake up revived and refreshed. There is a sense of abundance in the lush green leaves and the opening of blooms; a luminescence and lustre as the light grows — and there is still the potential for much much more…
The beginning of May is marked by the Celtic cross-quarter festival of Beltane, meaning ‘bright fire’, marking the midpoint between the spring equinox and the summer solstice — it is a time to gather together and welcome abundance, warmth and lushness as the sun rises higher in the sky and we move towards summer.
The 14th May falls just after the Full Flower Moon (also known as the Mother’s moon, Milk Moon and Bright moon), the names remind us that although we are in a time of abundance and light, we still need to tend to ourselves, and to nurture the seeds we have sown.
We will be immersed in the steady nourishing Taurus season, an energy that allows us to build strong foundations, and to rest into the earthly beauty that surrounds us. Colour is returning amongst the lushness of green, there is a feeling of renewal, healing, inspiration and blossoming.
Light a bright fire within.
It feels like a potent time to come together, to turn our faces towards the light of the sun, to light our own bright fires within, and nurture the seeds we have been sowing — to rest into stillness after the to and fro of winterspring, to bathe in the vibrancy and inspiration of spring, and hold the the fullness that is within each of us.
The spring edition of A Seasonal Salon. is an opportunity to gather together — to light a bright fire within, to shed the layers we have been cocooned in, to step barefoot into a meadow of magic and potential.
I would be so delighted if you chose to gather amongst the wisteria and the wildflowers with me, where, by weaving together seasonal reflections, poetry and prose, flowers and folklore, we will,
reflect on the season so far
make time to notice how the beauty of the season unfolding around us
conjure warmth, inspiration and vibrancy as cues to craft creative intentions as we move further into the lighter, growth seasons.
I look forward to marking this subtle turn within the season — to find softness, healing and renewal, and to look to the light that will illuminate the next small steps on our path ahead.
I do hope you can join me…
