I love snow drops so much. Each year I think, no, that's too early, they won't make it, they'll freeze. And each year they thrive. And there's one or two at first and I almost don't notice because they arrive so quietly, and then, every time I look there's a few more until suddenly, there are big clusters of them everywhere, blooming and declaring spring. So much resilience and strength and hope in such a small and delicate-looking plant. ♥️

Ah wonderful. It is such a magical flower, almost impossibly delicate looking and yet so strong! And yes they really do sneak up on you, we have a few clusters emerging in the garden now, little pockets of luminosity amongst the muted tones. It’s lovely coming across swathes of them in the wild! xx

I’ve been drawn to the hellebore ever since I’ve seen your notes and Instagrams sharing about this post. Until now, I’ve never heard of this most magical flower. And I am absolutely smitten. It also seems that the word ”hope” keeps rising up from me as I move into February. Even in the midst of so much tragedy and chaos, I cannot shake the feeling of deep, abiding hope. And I just want to sit with hellebore flowers all around me.

Thank you for aligning my inner life with this delicate treasure of winter’s nature, Lyndsay. ❤️
