A beautiful poetic exploration of light. You need to work for farrow and ball @Lyndsay Kaldor

I love that phrase… lemon water dawn… it is a different kind of sunrise isn’t it at this time of year? And I agree… while we can’t guarantee the weather (today a dizzy high of 10 degrees made me wish I was wearing my puffy winter coat again at the park with the girls)… we do have the light and THAT is something to be grateful for. Gorgeous words as always, and I am so excited for our gathering xxx

Ah glad you feel that too, it is so pale and translucent at that time . And yes, it has been helpful for me to remember the expanse of the light, especially when we don’t have uninterrupted warm sunshine…yes to needing a thick coat, yesterday’s outing made me wish I had packed winter hats! 🥶 a joy to plan and gather with you, to take a pause in this beautifully light-filled time of year xx

Oh, Lyndsay. It’s as if your words illuminated all of the thoughts and feelings I have inside of me. Yes, I am noticing all of the glorious light right now - and soaking it all in as slowly and intentionally as I can, even as the rains pour down and the air has turned cold again. But, even the rainy days are cozy and bright.

Thank you so much for sharing your light, my friend. ❤️

Thank you for reading Liz. I am so glad that my words resonate with how it feels for you. And yesss, the noticing is everything, otherwise it’s quality specific to this time of year can so easily pass us by. Especially when we don’t have the sunshine all the time! It’s been chilly here the last couple of days, you’re right cosy and bright is something to be celebrated xx

I miss the anticipation of summer. Those morning getting lighter and warmer.

Here I long for cloudy days that cool the world down. I have always been a sun seeker but living in an endless summer now finds me more often than not, in the shade.

I’m loving your garden photos. So classically English

Ah thank you for reading Tansie. Yes the anticipation of summer (and all seasons in some way) does feel special. It must be so different living in an endless summer and I can totally imagine being drawn towards the shade. I find myself drawn to the shade more in the height of summer as I get older but right now as it remains quite chilly here, I am finding myself basking in any passing moment of sunshine! Thank you re: the garden, I never quite manage to stay on top of it but it is very much my happy place xx

"The world 'solstice' comes from the Latin solstitium meaning 'sun stands still'." I find that so interesting! I love bits of information like that. Thanks for sharing Lyndsay 🧡

Ahh yes glad you found that interesting! Knowing the meaning and reason behind it does bring a slightly different feel to it. I like the idea of pausing even at the most expansive time! xx
