Ah I’m so glad to hear that, thank you Jenna. Like with a lot of things, it can feel quite ‘out there’ but also so of the everyday, there is nothing not underpinned by the elements. I’m glad you have found this exploration of the fire element helpful, fire rituals to come before the month is out! xx
I love that, and yes you are so right, it absolutely relates to the everyday. Makes the everyday seem more magical too. Oooh yes, a fire ritual sounds lovely!
Ahhh so beautiful.... the magic of this season deepens within me each year as I embrace it more and more. I love bringing the warmth in with fire.. the candles lit and for me it’s all about the inner fire with warming foods... ginger in my porridge, slow cooker meals, even baking more because I feel really called to nourishing me and the girls well at this time... probably to fight off all the germs as best as we can. Such a beautiful reflection on this season and bringing fire in. Xxx
Thank you dear one. And yes I feel wrapped in the depths of winter magic more and more each year. I LOVE your fire/warming rituals. Ginger is a great idea for porridge, I often add cinnamon but hadn’t thought of ginger, will do that tomorrow morning! And yes to the slow cooker and baking. I am very slowly finding my way with cooking again and it feels so nice to be called. Would love to hear any of your favourite slow cooker recipes as I haven’t used mine in a while but it is the perfect time to... I have just been given an old bread maker so hope to get into that and plan to make some cakes for Lila’s birthday next week (perhaps inspired by Victoria’s Imbolc recipes!) much love to you and yes we have to keep fighting off these winter illnesses! xx
My slow cooker recipes are... throw stuff in and leave it to work it’s magic! Ha!!! I often do soups in there though so I have something warm to eat at lunch.
Try the ginger in porridge. I love it with pear and a bit of cacao too... it’s rich and earthy!!! Xx
Ha yes I guess that is the beauty of it. Ooo have never done a soup in there, sounds ideal. Had a lentil stew and sourdough for lunch yesterday and thought of you! Oh my goodness pear and ginger porridge, it gets better and better! And yum, I have just ordered a new batch of cacao which I am very excited by, hadn’t even thought to add it to porridge, yum xx
Sometimes with some tahini in... or coconut oil... and turmeric... or nut butter... I mean I used to be a food blogger and porridge was one of my specialities!!! 🤣
Tahini ooo wow. I used to douse everything in tahini but not porridge, must try. Yes usually have almond butter with mine which I love. Coconut oil and turmeric are great calls too, can’t wait for breakfast now...! My goodness, I would love to read your food blog, you are a wonderful, and hello porridge speciality. Did you ever go to 26 Grains?? xx
Yes that’s what I usually do with soups... roasted squash, ginger (can you tell I’m obsessed?!) lentils, stock, cumin, maybe some roasted peppers and onions sometimes... or parsnip... let it cook away all morning then just hand blitz it up! And yesssss to the sourdough! My fave is toooing it with avo and feta and dunking the lot in the soup! Xx
You are providing me with much warming food inspiration just as I do my food order, I am very grateful! And thank you for upgrading the sourdough dream in the best possible way xx
Also I feel very deeply the excitement for projects and co creations yet without a need to rush. Just a knowing and trust that it’s all unfolding. It’s so joyful to work in this way! Xx
And some beautiful seeds being sown in a seasonal, cyclical and intuitive way. It does feel joyful, I am very excited to see how it all evolves slowly but surely xx
This was so beautiful to read, Lyndsay! Thank you!! And it feels so nourishing to be in tune with the elements in this season and to really lean into the slow burn of fire, as you say. I loved this so much.
Thanks so much for reading Hunter. This reminds me that I plan to send you an email about elemental living at home in response to your lovely element post with Jenna! So glad to hear that you are feeling nourished by leaning into the balancing element of fire this season and particularly the gentle aspects of the flame, I love how it feels inspiring but slow too xx
I find your elemental living series fascinating and inspiring Lyndsay - l especially how you linked fire and creativity:
"...tending the embers of creativity, allowing ideas to simmer, trusting in the enduring glow of the slow burn."
The way you put this feels so gentle and hopeful too. X

I don’t use ceremonial cacao in porridge... just the raw powder... but it is yummy!!!!!

Also making my golden milk with loads of ginger and turmeric and cinnamon with some mixed spice too sometimes xx
So good, love a golden milk. Thank you for writing my shopping list and reinvigorating my store cupboard with these beautiful suggestions 👌
