Thank you so much for reading Natalie, hope reading a bit about summer helped to stretch it out a little longer…! So glad to hear you had a lovely one xx
This is so so beautiful and I feel really inspired to do similar and reflect over the richness of this summer. I really do feel like it’s been one of my deepest summers yet. And such an honour to spend some of it with you xxxx
Ah thank you dear one. Yes I am so glad it feels like it to you, perhaps because we know we are on the edge of change we have immersed ourselves in it more fully?? I also feel like I have tried to take the pressure off and things have unfolded more easefully and I have felt everything more… I feel like you probably knew many of my summer stories from our conversations and it has been such a joy to spend some special times together via screen and IRL! xx
As always, I feel like I am right with you inside your writing.
For me summer used to be about waking to the sound of cicadas in the garden, early morning swims in cool clear water, watermelon for lunch and a sense of endlessness that was intoxicating and draining all at once. Early mornings drinking tea in the garden and 4am sunrises.
Now my relationship with the summer is more difficult as we live in endless heat. But I think the thing that stirs up a feeling of summer most for me is also the shadows cast through windows and onto crisp bed bedsheets.
Ah I’m glad you were with me for a while as you read.
Thank you for sharing your summer’s past, you describe it so beautifully. Summer has a special way of becoming nostalgic and lodged in our hearts I think!
It must be so interesting to live somewhere it is always summer. I imagine it would be so different to have heat as a constant and of course you have to adopt different rhythms and seek out the edges as you allude to, in the shadows and in the thinnest edges of the day. Sending love and cool breezes to you xx
Lulling lavender- yes! ♥️ Also… cousins from Japan - yet another delicious crossover between our lives! My brother lived in Tokyo for 20 years till he returned home last year to do a PhD. We had our Japanese cousins to stay for 2 weeks at Easter.
So much love for lavender and it’s lulling! Oh wow that’s amazing, I love this synchronicity. It is my brother-in-law who lives in Japan with his wife and kids. He moved there after university and they did spend a few years here when their children were small. My two miss their cousins a lot, it was so special to spend time with them whilst they were here xx
Thank you Clau, it means a lot to know you are reading and holding my stories. I am so glad you enjoyed reading. Thank you for your sunshine hug from Mexico, I am receiving it warmly! xx
So sweet to read your words again and live an enchanting Summer through them. I am truly missing your quietly observing perspective on life. I look forward to being “back” and reading more 🍓
Ah Julia, it is SO nice to see you here. Thank you for reading in what must be such a full time. I have been missing you too and your words too, I am always so glad to see your posts emerge as you feel called and able to write, they are beautiful as ever. Thank you for the sunshine, it is gratefully received xx
Ah this is the most perfect list. What a summer you’ve had, it sounds as though you have been fully immersed in the season and that it has been filled with the most beautiful simple pleasures. Do you camp/glamp in summer every year? xx
What a perfect way for me to spend this last day of August, curled up with your enchanting stories of a deep, slow summer of magic, color, and the sense that this season has both inspired me into action and lulled me into a peaceful, dreamy season of pause and becoming.
Thank you, dearest Lyndsay, for giving me such a perfectly fitting moment with which I can bid farewell to summer and turn towards autumn. ❤️
Ah Liz, I am so glad that you were able to make time to pause and honour your experience of summer and turn towards autumn on this, the last day of August — and I am so touched that my words made their way into your time reflecting on the season.
I am so looking forward to journeying into autumn with you 🌸🍂✨
Ah thank you Katy, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for sending me your beautiful artwork, receiving it was a wonderful summer shimmer 🦉✉️✨ xx
Love this, Lyndsay. You have a way of showing me what I haven't stopped to notice. Thank you x
Ah Lindsay, I’m so glad, thank you for reading. I hope it gave you a moment to stop and reflect on the little things within your epic summer! xx
Enjoyed reading this so much. I am missing Summer so much already, and did not want it to end.

So lovely 🩷 I might have to make a little list too. But it was mostly:
•wake to sounds of birds
•unzip my tent and step out into the world
•take a refreshing (and naked) dip in the water
•drink a leisurely cup of coffee
•think about when to take a sauna and when to eat
•repeat
🌿🌟☀️
