I loved reading your moments out and about in London this winter Lyndsay. Your images and words always capture so much beauty.. thank you for sharing these stories x
Ah thank you for reading Emily, it is so wonderful to think of you reading from your home in the States. I always love your beautiful observations in your life too xx
Ah thank you for reading Mary. It is great to hear that you have been deepening your relationship with winter, it’s a process! So glad to hear that my little winter snippets were helpful xx
A beautiful post Lyndsay, so lovely to read your winter stories - it reminded me of so many moments of joy that I did have over winter, despite me telling anyone who will listen how hard I've found this winter! Love how your daughter was an enthusiastic angel in hr nativity, seeing your kids perform is so heartwarming and emotional. Like your garden, we also have the pale yellow primroses now, around our apple tree and I've noticed more purple crocuses in the garden this year too. The daffodils are nearly in bloom too. Always love your writing Lyndsay.
Ah thank you Jenna, so glad it became a mirror for your own small winter stories. I hear/see you though, winter isn’t easy, I hope you are ok and able to trust we are coming out the other side. Yes the nativity was so heart-swelling! Ah I love the sound of primroses and crocuses surrounding your apple tree. And yes to nearly having daffodils in bloom, I was hoping for them in time for yesterday but I don’t think they are far off. A belated Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus to you 💛 xx
Yes, so happy for the sunnier days now ☀️ . Aw thank you Lyndsay 🏴! Well my daffodils won't be in bloom anymore after my husband got a bit carried away with the lawnmower yesterday!! 🤣 I'll just have to buy some to put in a vase instead! Xx
Oh no!! 🤪🤪🤪 what a shame! That has happened to me with primroses before 🤦♀️ yes lucky daffs are readily available to buy right now! Enjoy their sunny, yolky loveliness when you get some xx
Oh thank you Eminé, I am so glad to hear it felt that way. And ah thank you! It feels good to capture some of the winter beauty in pictures as well as words xx
This is such a beautiful ode to this season, and it’s been so full of magic from your wonderful reflections! This winter has definitely been about befriending the darkness a little more for me… sometimes that has been very welcome and sometimes I’ve resisted it. But I feel like it’s been a season of depth… it doesn’t really feel fully over yet for some reason… perhaps because of my own inner current season, but I don’t feel the readiness for springing out just yet! Xxx
Ah thank you L, the beauty can be subtle in winter but deeper somehow?? It is good to hear you have befriended the darkness this year, I have felt a bit more comfortable with it too. Yes to the depths of it all. And yes, despite the very welcome sunshine and light, I think you are right, I am sure winter is not fully over, we will likely be dancing with ‘winterspring’ for a while yet! A slow emergence is probably what is required xx
This newsletter is just so so full of winter wonders Lyndsay, I loved it. Thank you for it all. I always find I see my surrounding anew after reading one of your pieces x
Ah thank you for reading Layla, I am so glad you enjoyed it. And I am so delighted to hear that it led you to see your world anew, very much likewise with your words and wisdom xx
Ha! Beigel Bake is so good. We ended up stocking up on a load of plain bagels and freezing them this time, they’re still bringing much joy! And Rinkoff’s yes, quite unassuming but laden in history and delicious! xx
