Gathering summer talismans.

“Let July be July.

Let August be August.

And let yourself

just be

even in

the uncertainty.

You don’t have to fix

everything.

You don’t have solve

everything.

And you can still

find peace

and grow

in the wild

of changing things”.

Yesterday morning, we gathered together to sink into sweet stillness at A Seasonal Salon. summer edition, finding an anchor in a time that can feel extremely full.

It was such a joy to share seasonal insights with beautiful souls — to reflect on how far we have come since the beginning of the growth seasons, to find the sweetness and the pauses we need in order to drink in summer fully, and to craft our intentions for the first harvest ahead. As always, it was so nourishing to receive everyone’s reflections, to feel the support of each other within the space, and to explore the themes deeply embedded in summer.

Above is a recording of the Salon and below is a written guide, with details of poetry, quotes and references for all members of The Beauty Thread.

My intention for A Seasonal Salon. is to make space and time to steep ourselves in the season we find ourselves in, by weaving together seasonal reflections, poetry and, flowers and folklore to,

- reflect on the deep bloom of early summer

- anchor in sweet honeyed stillness of this moment

- craft an intentional first harvest in the weeks ahead

The summer edition of A Seasonal Salon. is an opportunity to gather together — to sink into sweet stillness, to honour our wholeness and all it has taken to bring us here, to bask in radiance and to leave space for the magic of the dance to find us…

Welcome to A Seasonal Salon., summer edition — thank you for being here.

Sink into sweet summer stillness.

If you have time, do make yourself comfortable and take a moment to arrange your space…

  • Perhaps have a view of the world beyond your window, or have something that feels like summer in your sights — I took a moment to gather some summer talismans from the garden for my desk!

  • I will light a candle to open the Salon, do feel free to light one in your space too.

  • Have a notebook and a pen — we will move through a series of seasonal reflections, ideas and fragments, with an opportunity to muse and contemplate. All is optional.

  • Have something to sip (and to nibble on) that feels comforting and nourishing.

REFLECT.

The deep bloom.

Early summer reflections.

Early summer is sunshine and long, light-filled days — it’s waking up bathed in cool, lemon light, and going to bed when the day is still syrupy and golden. It is the dreamy drift into dusk as night finally falls.

It is stepping outside into the garden first thing and gulping the early morning air; it is wild roses drenched by the rain; it’s breakfast smoothies, ice cream after school, and strawberry everything (even the moon).

It is the first sports day, class photos, and the candyfloss sweetness of the first school summer fair.

It is the very beginnings of twining and trailing sweet peas; it is seedlings growing towards the sun and finding their way into the ground; it is walking through the woods that are dripping in emerald green, with delicate patterns of light dancing on the forest floor…
