Dearest reader
How are you doing as we move deeper into May?
As we are coming towards the (meterological) end of spring, I wanted to send you some of my reflections from the season, a snippet taken from A Seasonal Salon. creative gathering for spring last week, and a round-up of this season in case there is anything you have missed or would like to return to before we set our sights on the long, summer days…
My spring reflections…

Within the REFLECT part of A Seasonal Salon. we looked back on how spring has felt for us, you can listen to the audio above and see my notes below…
*March — peering out of the cocoon.
March is a melding of the seasons, a container of change, it is ‘winterspring’. It requires a shift in energy from downward rooting energy, to upward growth which can feel unsettling and uncomfortable, but also something that we can come to crave.
*Did you feel a shift in your (creative) energy at the beginning of spring?
*April — opening the windows.
Just like the word April, thought to be derived from the Latin verb aperire meaning ‘to open’, life is begins to open up again once more in this month — we open our curtains and windows to find a new wash of colour from buds, leaves, petals opening in the warmth and light. With all the sweeping change, we require a soft place to land, to feel our feet on the earth, a place of comfort from which to feel revived and inspired.
*What did you open yourself up to in spring?
Afterwards we moved onto anchoring ourselves in this part of late spring in May, as we step outside, with poetry, lunar and floral wisdom, before crafting and cultivating a sense of bright light within to be embodied in the lightest, growth weeks ahead…

Tending and telling our stories inspired by the quiet power of noticing beauty & wonder.
This spring at The Beauty Thread.
We met at Gather & Tend. in March, an online co-working session held on the eve of the spring equinox — it was such a pleasure to be together, to make space and to steady ourselves as we tipped into the lighter, brighter part of the year.
As the session unfolded, I realised just how important it is that we make time to gather — both gather ourselves inwards as we are pulled in different directions during the day, as well as gathering together, and to tend — taking care of and nurturing our work, visions and dreams, rather than racing through the priorities on our to-do lists.

Introducing A Storied Home, in spring.
Hello I’m Lyndsay, I am so glad you have found your way here…
We gathered together to light a bright fire within at A Seasonal Salon, spring edition in May, as the glorious spring light poured in, bringing the jug of peonies on my desk into fullness.
It was such a joy to share seasonal insights with a group of beautiful souls — to witness wonder rising up in each of us, to remind ourselves to tend to our seeds/selves, to celebrate what is blooming, and connect to the bright fire that resides within. It was so nourishing to receive everyone’s reflections, to feel the support of each other within the space, and to explore the themes deeply embedded in spring.

Looking forward to summer.
Reflecting on the season feels like framing a fragment of time that can slip through our fingers so quickly, whilst thinking about looking forward to craft our steps ahead (which I hope is helpful for planning your diaries).
Two upcoming dates for your diaries are,
Gather & Tend. in early summer — 10am-11.15am BST, Monday 16th June 2025.
A Seasonal Salon. for summer — 11-12.15pm BST, Wednesday 16th July 2025.
More details to follow soon, with links to register for members of The Beauty Thread.
My biggest learnings this season are, that whilst we open and move outwards into the lightest, brightest growth season, there is still much unseen work taking place below ground — that perhaps the bloom is not always visible but instead, a deepening into fullness.
That there is a fine balance between tending to, and letting go. We must remember to nurture the seeds we have sown, to give them what they need to flourish, whilst also remembering to leave some space for wildness to unfold in the way it was always meant to.
*What have been your spring learnings (so far)?
Thank you for being here this spring, I would love to hear how it has been unfolding for you and hope we can chat spring thoughts in the comments.
